From Brian Fielder:
The Lottery
1. Yes, the ending did suprise me. I would have never expected death to result from something as innocent as a lottery especially when you win it or in this case lose. I guess back then it was just a way to control population or something.
2. Tradition played a major role in this story. Everybody knew the date for the lottery and it had become routine. No one questioned the process they all went along with it. Tradition plays a huge role in our lives. Many people follow certain practices and customs that are part of their heritage or background which make them unique and different from everyone else.

A Modest Proposal
1. Wow that was weird. If you think about it, it kind of makes sense because it would help the poor, benefit the rich, and help control the population. However, it is kind of sick and twisted if you think about it. This person has all the right reasons but just the wrong solution.

A Sound of Thunder
1. Yes I think it could because all life is connected in a chain. If you disrupt it then it could lead to major outcomes. I am not sure if butterflies pollinate plants but if they do then it could lead to an extinction of certain plants that were eaten by animals that were eaten by humans. It could have also affected the whole migration patterns of animals and early humans.
2. I think I would go back some time during during Bible times. I think it would be cool if I could witness the flood, ancient Egypt, Christ's birth, death, and resurrection, and even all of his miracles.
